Even the chameleon would be jeolous
Humans are the most adaptable creatures on earth. If you have any doubts about that check the most remote areas on our planet and off and you will find people inhabiting there. Think of Siberia, the Sahara, even space, how and why doesn’t matter just know that there are people there. But people aren’t only adaptable to environments only but also conditions. Think of when you were in college, you went from three meals a day to a packet of instant noodles. Your sleep patterns change from 6 hours a night to 30 minutes between lectures. And somehow out of it all you were still a functioning human being. In a way it became a new normal, you adapted.
This crazy superpower is great for survival. You could assume that it was developed in primal times. In these times though it can work against you. Especially when you get used to bad or unhealthy ways of living. It is very hard to convince someone who has adapted their life to living a certain way to change. When they adapted to the way things were their eyes became shut to the possibilities of better. Someone works from 9 am to 9 pm for 6 days a week. Sounds crazy but even you can get used to this despite it not being right. Not having a constant water or electricity supply and guessing when you will have both. Easy, people are living like this all the time. They have adapted their lives to it, and again, but it isn’t right.
I can go on but you probably have gotten the point right? We are extremely adaptable beings and it works to our benefit but also detriment at times. What things have you adapted to (called normal) that put under closer scrutiny you will see that there is a better way? The hard part isn’t finding them but choosing to pursue the better.
