Invest In You
We spend a lot of time trying to think of where to put the little pennies we save up. Should they go into a business or an app idea? After realizing you are not the best person to think of where to put your money you pull out the Oracle on your phone, better known as Google, and you search for ideas.
The obvious results are around investing in real estate (building houses), stonks are also known as stocks, and a plethora of other options. But the most overlooked investment is, oneself. Well, that is because you are never the first thing on your mind most times. And that is where I and others get it wrong. We work tirelessly to improve everything around us from the stuff we have to the places we live but very rarely take time to be introspective. See where we can become better. Or at the least make minor changes. Ask yourself
How can I change or gradually improve what I am bringing to the table?
There’s a correlation between what you bring to the table and what you can possibly earn or make. Heck anyone who is remotely successful has to be bringing something better than the other guy.
So how can you invest in yourself? Well that is entirely up to you but a few good areas to start are;
Learning about the world around you and how things work. A basic understanding of economics and policies goes a long way.
Read about or spend time trying to understand people. A great amount of time is spent interacting with people of different backgrounds. Simply knowing how to communicate and understand them makes your work and life easier.
Work on your health. Yes everyone says this but this is one that pays off way later in your old age. Don’t believe me go ahead and skip it, you will tell me about it after your doctor makes you quit sugar.
The rest you can figure out on your own, like learning a new skill that people pay more for getting certified and the rest. But the overall result is the better you are the better ideas and decisions you can make.
